For those of you who have seen my posts on #Facebook; for the last few weeks I’ve been working on a custom built but very simple bookcase. The difference is that I was not using my own wood working tools…. I was using my late father’s tools and a bunch of scrap and reclaimed wood that he had.
The backstory…. My dad Donald Edward Dansby passed away on January 5th, 2017 due to complications from a heart attack that he suffered on December 24th, 2016 Yep Christmas Eve…. Him and I never really had a great relationship what him being a Marine and such. But we loved each other in our own unique way….As dysfunctional as it may have seen to others.
Anyways…. For the better part of this year I have been looking for a way to deal with this I have tried everything….Reading, Cooking, you name it I’ve tried it…. Even photography and Photoshop projects did not help. So I decided to go back to the one thing that him and I did TRY to do together… Working with wood and creating something that will last and we built together.
That’s where the bookcase comes in… However this case is only the first step in a huge project I have planned.
See pictures below…. And see the status updates from my Facebook profile in the comments.
